Are Israel’s battles costing the country its soul?

“The Arabs, like every other indigenous people,“view their country as their national home…and will not willingly agree to new landlords.” Writes, Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the founding father of Israel’s hardline revisionists, while effectively acknowledged the logic of Palestinian resistance to Zionismn in 1923 article. Sixty-three years later, in a similar vein, Ehud Barak admitted that; “if he’d been born a Palestinian, he would have joined “one of the terrorist organizations.”

  1. Israel’s soul is truly being put to the test by over 60 years of conflict, but I believe her soul is alive and well, precisely because of the moral and existential questions she faces daily. To give two examples, i) see how many Israelis take active part in the peace process, and ii) The ongoing campaign to release the unfortunate hostage, Gilad Shalit, from Hamas captivity. I recently read a fascinating article on Jewish ethics as regards the freeing of hostages which can be accessed at:
